THRESHOLD
The transition between the interior and exterior is softened by floor-to-ceil-
ing linen drapery, adding a sense of movement and lightness.
MATERIALITY
The use of rough-hewn stone for the exterior patio flooring contrasts with
the smooth, white plaster of the interior walls. The ceiling features a tradi-
tional bamboo or reed pergola structure draped in white fabric, providing
dappled sunlight and natural ventilation.
SCREENING
A distinctive blue geometric screen hangs in the archway, providing priva-
cy and sun protection without blocking the coastal breeze.
LANDSCAPE
Fluid Forms:
The pool is the centerpiece, designed with organic, curved edges that
mimic natural coastal lagoons. The multi-tonal blue tiling inside the pool
creates a sense of depth and movement.
Hardscaping
The villa utilizes paving stone with wide white grout lines, a hallmark of
Greek village paths. The layout is tiered, using stairs and retaining walls to
manage the slope.
Shade Structures:
Multiple levels of timber pergolas provide essential shade. The rhythmic
lines of the wooden beams create strong linear shadows that change
throughout the day, adding a dynamic layer to the floor plan.
